Chelmsford High School Seal of Biliteracy Fact Sheet

Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy

Chelmsford High School is proud to join over 100 other districts in Massachusetts who are implementing the Seal of Biliteracy. The Seal of Biliteracy is an award that recognizes and celebrate students who are fluent in a language in addition to English.

In order to qualify for the Seal of Biliteracy, students must have earned Proficient or Advanced on the 10th grade ELA MCAS, as well as earn a proficiency level of Intermediate-High on the STAMP test according to ACTFL guidelines. Students may take this test in any language that they speak or study. The computer based test has a listening, reading, writing, and speaking section to evaluate student proficiency in a second language.

The cost of the STAMP test is $20. Checks can be made out to the Chelmsford Public Schools.
