CHELMSFORD — As an educator, Christy Whittlesey found herself learning from students as they expressed their experiences and struggles when their experience of gender and identity didn’t fit into prescribed roles.
Whittlesey, district fine and performing arts coordinator, channeled her experiences into her doctorate, and two books.
Whittlesey’s second book, “The Beginner’s Guide to Being a Trans Ally,” is published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers. Whittlesey talked about her book, and how to translate allyship into action.
