Lowell Native Martin Named Assistant Director of Athletics at Chelmsford H.S.

CHELMSFORD, MA (Jan. 5, 2021) – Lori Martin, a native of Lowell, Mass., was named the Assistant Director of Athletics at Chelmsford High School, Director of Athletics Dan Hart announced on Monday.

Ms. Martin will assist in all facets of athletics administration at CHS including scheduling, transportation as well as graphic arts and social media efforts.

“I love everything sports-related,” said Ms. Martin. “When I was in high school, I knew I wanted to work in athletics with high school kids. That’s the age when you develop a passion for athletics and I want to be a part of that.”

A 2016 graduate of Lowell H.S., Ms. Martin completed her undergraduate degree in three years and is a 2019 graduate of Plymouth State University where she majored in Sport and Fitness Administration and Management. During her years at Plymouth, she interned in the Lowell H.S. Athletic Department where she handled scheduling for several Red Raider teams, social media efforts, and attended Merrimack Valley Conference meetings.

“I am very excited to have Lori join our team at Chelmsford High School,” said Mr. Hart. “Lori is a positive, highly intelligent, sports-minded individual who has a passion for working with children through interscholastic athletics. Lori shined in the interview process and will have a lot to offer our athletic program.”

Ms. Martin is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Management at Merrimack College.

“Lori has first-hand knowledge of how the MVC works,” Mr. Hart added. “While she finishes her master’s degree at Merrimack, she would love the opportunity to be an athletic director in the future.”

Ms. Martin began her role on Monday, Dec. 14. She is a resident of Chelmsford, Mass.
