CHELMSFORD, Massachusetts (Feb. 6, 2024) – Choralfest, the annual singing tradition that encompasses grades 4-12 students at Chelmsford Public Schools, is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. in the Carl J. Rondina Performing Arts Center at Chelmsford High School, 200 Richardson Road.
Admission is free and open to the public.
Celebrating its 13th year, Choralfest will feature performances by high school, middle school and elementary school choral ensembles, as well as a special song performed by all students in grades 4-12.
Christy Whittlesey, Fine Arts Coordinator for Chelmsford Public Schools, said approximately 100 students from the town’s four elementary schools have been nominated to be part of this event based on their classroom participation, attitude and singing skills.
“This is a special opportunity for these students to sample an authentic middle-school style concert, to make friends from around the district, and to perform with students from the middle and high school levels in the high school auditorium,” she said.
Fourth-grade students will arrive early on Saturday to work with the district’s choral educators, both in preparation for the 2 p.m. performance and as an introduction to middle school chorus.
“We are excited to offer this exciting performance opportunity and look forward to continuing to offer quality music opportunities for the students in the Chelmsford Public Schools,” Ms. Whittlesey said.
