CPS educators attend Day of AI Summit at MIT

CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts (Oct. 24, 2024) – On an inspiring day at the MIT Media Lab, educators from Chelmsford Public Schools gathered for a transformative AI Education Summit on Friday, Oct. 18.

This event featured a series of focused workshops tailored to enhance the teaching strategies of elementary, middle and high school teachers, including Bill Silver, the Director of Information, Communication and Technology Services.
Participants delved into critical topics such as “AI Tools for Education,” where they explored innovative technologies to enrich student learning.
The workshop on “The Social Impact of AI” facilitated discussions on ethical considerations and the societal implications of AI in education.
Educators also engaged in “Lesson Planning with AI,” learning how to integrate AI resources into their curriculum effectively.
The “AI Fluency Curriculum for Students” session equipped teachers with strategies to foster AI literacy among students, preparing them for a tech-driven future.
Each workshop provided practical insights and collaborative opportunities, allowing educators to share experiences and best practices.
This summit was a significant exposure to AI for the Chelmsford teachers, igniting enthusiasm for incorporating AI tools into their classrooms.
