About the National Geographic GeoBee

The National Geographic Bee is a nationwide contest for schools in the United States.  The GeoBee, an educational outreach program of the National Geographic Society, is conducted in English and is open to students in grades 4-8 under the age of 15. With a first-place prize of a $25,000 college scholarship – plus other prizes totaling nearly $100,000 – the GeoBee is designed to encourage the teaching and study of geography and is open to students from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands, the U.S. Virgin Islands, as well as the Department of Defense Dependents Schools.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the GeoBee will not be held this year.  Please encourage your student to visit the National Geographic Geography Bee website to learn more about Geography and engage in activities that will prepare them for the competition next year.
